Welcome

This site provides information about our products. Smoking is addictive and causes serious and fatal diseases. You will find more information on smoking and health on our corporate site.

Smoke constituents

Tobacco smoke contains thousands of different chemicals, including tar, nicotine and carbon monoxide (CO).
Many countries require tar, nicotine and CO numbers to be printed on cigarette packs. Those measurements are obtained using standardized testing methods that compare different brands when "smoked" by a machine under identical laboratory conditions.
In addition to tar, nicotine and CO, nearly 5,000 chemicals have been identified in tobacco smoke to date. Public health authorities have classified between 45 and 70 of those chemicals, including carcinogens, irritants and other toxins, as potentially causing the harmful effects of tobacco use.

Cigarette ingredients

The main component of our cigarettes is tobacco. Many of our leading brands also contain flavouring ingredients in the tobacco blend which give our brands their distinctive taste and aroma. We also use ingredients to keep the tobacco moist and facilitate the manufacturing process. "Non-tobacco materials" such as cigarette paper and filters contain ingredients as well.

For details of all of the ingredients we use in our brands please choose a country below. We frequently add to this list. If your country isn't listed yet, please check back later.
